Woot!

This.

It doesn’t make up for their ninja-edit of their original postabout the original deal, trying to show that they did mention the quantity from the get-go. That is just hands-down, flat-out, inexcusable practices. I have no trust in a company to ever do the ethical thing toward it’s player base, if this is the type of practices it follows. I’m still going to get the 6 month sub, and still play the game, but in no way am I going to speak well of the company itself until it has proven to have earned that trust.

I laughed when I heard they put it back up, I predicted they would but only as an extra few hundred so Im a wee bit impressed by them.

Still doesnt effect me though, Im gonna stick to a month to month sub as there is just something I cant fully trust about the game. hmmmmmmm

I got the game preordered lastnight but there is no way I would drop $200 on them right not. I don’t trust them.

It was a gimmick to drum up interest for something “limited” that was suddenly taken away as an option.

Good marketing move … bad PR move.

100% agreed. Trust in Cryptic is at critically low levels. The crap with Open Beta (shoddy implementation at launch, posting incorrect fixes that created further headaches) followed by the crazy last minute XP changes, and then this whole fiasco does not make me confident in Cryptic.

And yet I just bought the 6 month plan for me and the wife. So what does that say about us? I guess that we’ll take the abuse of shoddy management just so long as the game’s fun… Hrm.

Yeah, fun, polished game makes up for a lot. It probably means that we’ll keep a very critical eye to the game itself, and that if it doesn’t measure up. That’s game over. If, after 6 months, the game continues to improve and Cryptic shows a dedication to the player base and finds some open communcation and honest integrity, the game could do wonders.
